The Owensboro Convention Center has achieved the Global Biorisk Advisory Council® (GBAC) STAR™ Facility accreditation, the industry’s only outbreak prevention, response and recovery accreditation for facilities.

Under the guidance of GBAC’s scientific advisory board, the most stringent protocols for cleaning, disinfection and infectious disease prevention are implemented within the facility. Following a risk assessment, the program establishes mitigation strategies through the use of scientifically approved protocols, equipment, chemicals and training, which are continually measured, audited and improved, to ensure a facility’s readiness for biorisk situations. The program verifies that Owensboro Convention Center implements best practices to prepare for, respond to and recover from outbreaks and pandemics.

COVID 19

We have taken enhanced health and safety measures to protect our venue guests. However, there is an inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 in any public place where people are present. COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death. By entering the venue, you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19, and Venue disclaims any and all liability related thereto.

Defibrillators

There are three Automated External Defibrillator (AEDs) available throughout the building – they are located on each floor outside of the East Passenger Elevator. Please notify 911 and a staff member in the event of an emergency.

Emergency Procedures

In the event of an emergency, call 911 if necessary, notify a staff member, and comply with any announcements or requests made by facility staff. All staff are trained to respond accordingly in the event of an emergency, including inclement weather, medical emergencies, and public safety concerns. Please comply with any direction given by facility staff, and keep yourself and those around you safe.

First Aid

A first aid kit is available at the front desk. Please notify a staff member if an injury has occurred, and always dial 911 in the event of an emergency.
