Accessibility

Our facility is proud to be ADA compliant, including elevators that reach every floor and area of our facilities, Reasonable accommodations where not possible, ADA accessible restrooms, and we always account for additional space for mobility when creating room layouts.

Airports

Domestic Airports closest to the Owensboro Convention Center include: Owensboro-Daviess County Regional Airport in town (4 miles) and Evansville Regional Airport in Evansville, IN (45 miles). The closest International Airports include: Louisville International Airport in Louisville, KY (114 miles)and Nashville International Airport in Nashville, TN (139 miles).

Alcohol

Bar sales are available for select events, including an assortment of domestic beer, wine, liquor, and creative cocktail recipies.

Beverages sourced from outside of the facility are not permitted, including alcoholic beverages. When attending an event, no alcoholic beverages are to leave the facility. The Owensboro Convention Center is located within the City’s Green Cup District, so on certain days or during certain city-wide events, alcoholic beverages can leave the facility in the designated green cup.

Animals

Service animals covered under the ADA are gladly welcomed. Other animals must stay home. Our staff are instructed to ask the following questions to determine if your animal is permitted: “Is this dog a service animal required because of a disability?” “What task has the animal been trained to perform?”

ATM

There is an ATM on the first floor, across from the West Elevator and Kentucky Legend Café

Baby Changing Stations

Each public restroom in the facility includes a baby changing station, including both Women’s and Men’s restrooms.

Bag Policy

For certain public events, only small clutch bags (no bigger than 5″x8″x1″) will be permitted.

Balloons

Balloons with Helium, or any lighter-than-air gas, are not permitted in the facility. Pro-Tip: Balloons stuck to a fixture, without helium, are permitted.

Bottles/Travel Cups

Food or beverages sourced from outside of the facility are not permitted, including personal cups or bottles. For certain outdoor events during summer, we will permit (one) unopened bottle of water per guest. Please call 270-687-8800 to ensure this is true for the event you are attending.

Concessions

Pop us concessions stands are available for select events. The Kentucky Legend Cafe offers Daily Lunch Specials from 10am-2pm Monday-Friday and is also open for select events. No outside food or beverage items are permitted in the facility.

Decorations

Prohibited decorating items: Helium balloons, confetti, glitter, and strong-adhesive tapes such as duct tape. Speak to your event manager regarding our in-house décor options!

Dress Code

Appropriate clothing is required for all events, including a shirt and shoes.

Elevators/Escalators

There are two public elevators and three sets of escalators located in the Owensboro Convention Center, allowing access to the first, second, and third floors.

Entrances

All public entrances are located at the front of the building. Rear of side entrances are typically reserved for vendor loading and unloading. Access to this area can be granted by your Event Manager.

Guest Conduct

We strive to provide a safe and enjoyable atmosphere to all who attend an event in our facility. If a person refuses to comply with building policies, creates an unsafe situation, or creates a disturbance, the facility reserves the right to refuse admission and to remove the unruly guest from the premises.

Hotels

The Owensboro Convention Center is conveniently located between two hotels — The Hampton Inn, and The Holiday Inn.

Hours

Our typical business hours are 9:00am to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday. Our facility is open outside of these hours as needed for events occuring in the facility.

Inclement Weather

In the event of Inclement Weather, our facility will work with event promoters regarding potential postponements or cancellations. We recommend keeping in touch with events through our Facebook page and the promoter’s social media pages. If inclement weather occurs while attending an event, our staff are trained in the correct steps to take to ensure your safety. Please comply with any direction given by facility representatives.

Lost and Found

The front desk at the Convention Center maintains a log of all items lost or found during an event. If you find a lost item, please bring it to the front desk. If you are missing an item, please stop by the front desk to communicate your contact information so that we can reach you if the item is found. The venue will hold found items for 30 days, after which they are donated or disposed of as appropriate. Call the front desk at 270-687-8800, 9:00am to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday.

Nursing Room

Please visit the front desk to inquire about the availability of a nursing room. If available, we will find a suitable space to accommodate this need.

Photos/Videos

Some events may restrict photography or videography of an event. As a general rule, no professional photography or videography are permitted without advance approval.

Prohibited Items

Outside food or beverages, personal chairs, personal cups or bottles, coolers, video cameras or audio recorders, laser pens or laser products, air horns or noise makers, weapons of any kind, professional cameras, and any other item deemed unacceptable by management.

Public Transportation

Owensboro’s Downtown Trolley offers free transportation along 2nd street and 3rd street, making various stops along a 20 minute route. See https://transit.owensboro.org/ for other bus routes through the city and fares. Taxi services are available, as well as other ride sharing opportunities including Uber and Lyft.

Restrooms

There are three sets of public restrooms on the first floor of the Convention Center, and two sets on the third floor. Each restroom includes ADA accessibility and a baby changing station.

Smoking

Smoking and Vaping are prohibited inside of the facility and within 25 feet of the entrance to the facility.

Solicitation

Solicitation, including distribution of promotional materials, is not permitted without prior written authorization.

Umbrellas

Umbrellas aren’t permitted at select public events. However, if you are caught in the rain while attending a meeting, feel free to grab one of the umbrellas at the front desk and return them to any participating location, including the hotels next door.

Video

Professional recording of events is prohibited without prior written authorization. Live Streaming of events should only be performed by authorized promoters of an event.

Water Fountains

Water Fountains can be found outside of each event space near the restrooms.

Wheelchairs

Wheelchairs are available at the front desk if needed

Wi-Fi

WiFi at the Owensboro Convention Center is free and is open to the public. Secured SSIDs and dedicated hard-line connections are available when ordered in advance.
